Celtics Interested In Kyle Lowry
Toronto Raptors’ Kyle Lowry, who was the starting point guard for his team in the beginning of the season, has been relegated to the bench for the last 15 games behind Jose Calderon.
The stocky point guard out of Villanova has seen his fair share of ups and downs throughout his seven-year career so far.
As a member of the Houston Rockets last season, he suffered a bacterial infection which sidelined him for nearly 20 games. During that stretch, his backup Goran Dragic broke out into the scene and established himself as an exemplary point guard, and eventually ended up starting the rest of the season.
This is familiar territory for Lowry, as he seems to have lost his starting role once again, after Calderon played an exceptional stretch of games. He went down earlier this season due to a tear in his tricep muscles, per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Boston Celtics are likely to start chasing Kyle Lowry:
“Sense I get is it’s far likelier Celts pursue Kyle Lowry and his cap-friendly contract. But do Celts have assets to land Raps PG? We’ll see”
