The Cleveland Cavaliers have met with veteran guard Chauncey Billups. Head assistant coach Tyronn Lue, general manager David Griffin and head coach David Blatt were present at the meeting.
Billups only played 21 games in 2010-11, 20 games in 2011-12, 22 games in 2012-13, and 19 games last season. He made it clear that he would be interested in joining LeBron’s squad during an interview last season. However, he was referring to the Miami Heat, since that was LeBron’s current team.
“Of course, I would have interest in Miami, of course,’’ Billups told FOX Sports Florida…
“Absolutely, I could help them,’’ Billups said before the Heat faced San Antonio after having lost the Finals opener last Thursday.
The Cavaliers are also interested in signing Ray Allen and Shawn Marion.
Allen was spotted in China with LeBron James earlier this summer. However, he says the Cavs aren’t his only option if he decides to return to the NBA. Doc Rivers and the Clippers have also reached out to Allen.
Recent reports stated that Marion is very interested in joining LeBron James and the Cavaliers, despite receiving larger offers elsewhere.
