According to Hoopsworld’s Alex Kennedy, the Los Angeles Clippers are considering sending Gilbert Arenas an invitation to training camp. Kennedy reports that Agent Zero has looked impressive during his basketball workouts, which is the reason the Clippers have been contemplating a camp invite.
Arenas, only 31-years-old, should still have some gas left in his tank. Even if he fails to make the Clippers roster, a camp invite would be a great way to get his foot back into the NBA’s door. His talent is significant, but his knucklehead decisions off the court scare most general managers away.
Throughout 11 years in the league, Arenas has averaged 20.7 points, 5.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. During his basketball career, Arenas made the All-Pac 10 first team, won the NBA Rookie Challenge MVP, made the All-NBA Third team three times, made the All-NBA Second team once, won the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2003, and made the NBA All-Star game three times.
