That since the NBA decided to fine the Spurs organization for "resting" their stars, they should fine/punish teams that try to tank for a higher lottery pick. Keep in mind that when a team tries to tank, they rest their best players or play them limited minutes.

Nah, tanking is just part of the game, in order to get a higher draft pick. How else are small market teams going to get superstars? Do you think superstar FA's are going to sign with them, no...

Their only hope is the draft, so tanking is a legit strategy to eventually be able to contend.

If this wasn't allowed, the NBA would be even worse in terms of top-heaviness and less contending teams. Top teams would always stay at the top, there would be no excitement or surprises.

Nope. A lottery system is in place to counteract that. I also don't have an issue with the Spurs being fined.

although i disagree with the NBA fining the spurs, i also disagree with fining teams that tank. its a legit strategy to try and get more players. also, the worst teams aren't always guaranteed to get a top pick. i disagree with both.

Yes I do think teams trying to tank should get fined if the Spurs can get fined for resting players. Neither should be a fine, although I think tanking is a embarrassment to yourselves and the game, but its your team do what you want. I have always backed Stern for the most part and stuck up for him, but after him fining the Spurs for this I have lost all respect for him. His time of running the NBA needs to end now IMO after pulling this BS on the Spurs.
