Derrick Rose may return to practice within a few weeks, according to an NBA source.
Rose underwent surgery on his left ACL in May.
‘‘That’s the belief that a couple of [the Bulls’] players are under,’’ the source said.
Asked Monday if there was a specific timetable for Rose to start practicing, general manager Gar Forman answered in a text message: ‘‘We’re still taking the process step by step, and a date hasn’t been set.’’
Rose has been able to cut on his knee for at least two weeks.

By practicing they obviously mean no-contact prcaticies. Just drills, shooting and generally the fundamentals to get off the massive rust.
Thibs said that he's long way away from the return. They ain't gonna allow him to rush back. I'm pretty positive about that.

Seriously though, Teo is right. He is still months away from even playing a full practice with his teammates. This just means he is able to take a set up from rehab. Obviously good news for Bull fans but they shouldn't be worried that they're rushing him.

I feel like he's rushing back.
Why? He had surgery six or seven months ago, and there was a 9-12 month recovery time. It seems to me he's right on schedule with the rehab.

Thought for a moment he was going to play within a month!
Crazy thought.

He's taking his time, which is what he should be doing, he doesn't want to get back on the court within 6 or 7 months and repeat the injury in his first game. His knee isn't ready for that kind of pressure yet.

So you are saying he should just lay around and expect him to return the same he was before, even after he had a major knee injury without exercising?
