If Melo is dropping like 25PPG+ on like %42+ with like 7 boards you think hes a probable MVP, unless the Thunder take #1 seed and Durant goes off

He definitely can. Melo passes better... even pass to assist, he does it better and he hustles much more than last season including better defense even though he's not playing GREAT defense. He has a chance... getting the 1st seed in the East Vs the Heat would be a HUGE achievement for Melo and his team.

Depends in a couple of factors. Obviously, Knicks need to be the number seed in the East. Also, I think that the Spurs must be the number one seed or any other team besides the Thunder. If that happens and Melo keeps playing well, Anthony is the best candidate for MVP in my opinion.

I think he could be... It all really depends on how the rest of the teams in the East do, not just the Knicks. I think that the Heat will be back as the one seed this year though. I can see the Knicks easily being top four along with the Celtics and Nets. I think that those four will be the kings of the East for the foreseeable future and we will see rivalries between all of them.

No. IMO, Melo won't win the MVP even if the Knicks clinch #1 seed overall in the NBA.

The MVP will go to Durant or to James.
Chris Paul may got a shot too.

Melo just doesn't have the impact -IMO- that those players have and whose teams will definitely have great records, especially KD's and LBJ's.

If he leads the Knicks to a better record than the Heat, I think he'll finish above Lebron. I don't really know about guys in the West

Luckily people don't vote with just one game in mind. It's a whole season thing.

Well if the Knicks can finish with the #1 record yes Melo deserves MVP unless there is a bigger story in the western conference.

If the Knicks can lock the first seed than Carmelo would have a great chance to win it all but I still think the Heat will win the first seed, there just to talented to not get that first seed.

Carmelo won't win MVP, he's just not an MVP caliber player. His statistics are not on par with LBJ's or KD's, he's not as dominant or consistent as those two guys.

He has just been consistent as of recent and does not have the long term leadership that has shown in other players like Lebron or KD as of recent.

Melo is gonna most likely drop a bit less than kevin prolly like 27-7-3
so if the knicks can get #1 seed he has a great chance..

like d-rose he is no where to the talent of LBJ, CP3, or KD but he won MVP dropping like 24-7-3

They won't get the #1 seed.

The Heat and the Celtics will get #1 and #2, with the Knicks probably getting the third spot.

Even if they do get the #1 seed, Lebron will probably win it anyways, as usual.

You seem so sure about that, has anything that's happened this year even remotely pointed to that outcome?

I don't think the Knicks will get the first seed, but there is no indication that the Celtics will finish in front of the Knicks or Nets, let alone both...

My opinion is though that he soesn't have the impact Rose had in his MVP season.

Also, Rose had Boozer and especially Noah injured for most of the season. This fact played -IMO- a big role at Rose winning the MVP. It's the circumstances that matter.
If it wasn't for their injuries, Rose maybe wouldn't have won it. Maybe.

Oh, and Melo can't drop to 7 rebounds and 3 assists since his averages ain't even that high (6.7 rebounds, 2 assists).

LOL, @ the 2APG. Someone who has the ball in his hands as much as melo should be getting atleast close to 5APG.
