Having promising years in the early stages of his career he has showed that he has ton of potential . Being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks ball club to back up Steve Nash at the point position . Having pretty decent years on the Mavs , he did enough to gain interest from New Jersey in which he got traded sometime in February of 2008 for Jason Kidd and others . He immediately made an impact , on his debut putting up 21 points and 6 dimes under 21 minutes if play against the bucks . That type of play didnt stop he eventually became an all star that year and gained more interest and was on the move once again to Utah in exchange for Deron Williams . As a member of the Jazz things began to slow down and they continue to go down in which he is a member if the Hawks Organization right now.

Can this once promising All Star point Guard make it to the Top of the food chain again in the future ?

Honestly if he can get some more minutes and work for the better he can be considerable , I give him 2 years to improve a lil more . He showing some signs i know he scored 20 against charlotte but that's pretty much it .

20 against charlotte though... that's like saying you made a layup in a deserted gym.

Hell no, I used to be a big Devin Harris fan 4 years ago when he was ballin but he never got his touch back again. Idk what happened, maybe his confidence, the system he was in before he got traded, teammates, or not improbing. but Hes just a role player now.

I agree he HAD but he just got lost somewhere in the mist of time . He reminds me of T-Mac with this disappearing talent and just become role players

Harris is the Kwame Brown of Guards. He is a role player now.

Hey the bobcats weren't that bad a few years ago when that happened

They had Gerald wallace, Tyson chandler, Raymond Felton, Jared Dudley, etc!!!

He was terrible on the Bobcats though. Played in 73 games in his rookie season and averaged 6/3/1 and that's being generous (points per game was 5.7). Then, on his second stint with the team, he only played in 20 games and still put up the same numbers pretty much. He shouldn't be up there as a "good player on the Bobcats".

No chance, really. He never was one of the next big things, he was just a good player who developed and performed well, peaking out in his All-Star year. From his rookie year to his All-Star year, he was steadily improving, and from his All-Star year to now, he's been steadily declining. He's 29 years old, and he seemingly hit an early prime, so it's over now. He probably won't be anything special for much longer, just a solid backup point guard. He's a good player, but nowhere near All-Star status again. His per-36 right now has him at 12 PPG and 4 APG, shooting decent at best percentages. He'll be a solid backup point guard for a few more years, nothing more.

He was fast.

That was his biggest attribute.

But he's never been a top of the food chain type player. He could barely run an offense because he was always looking for his own numbers. Then when he got Avery Johnson as a coach (2x) he was F'd.

7pts and almost 3 ast. doesn't make me think he'll regain anything, anytime soon.
