JR Smith just put himself in the driver seat for SMOY in my opinion, hitting his second facial buzzer beater of the season vs. the Suns.

JR is averaging 15 PPG 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 32 minutes this season but that doesn't even tell the whole story when he's making shots like this regularly:

The race is between him and Jamal Crawford and will probably stay that way for the rest of the year.

Smith has been playing great this season but the last 9 games he has been on another level!

I hope he can understand why Knicks want him off the bench, he is a great spark.

Yeah, he really excels in that role. Especially when he's hot and can score baskets even when the rest of the offense goes cold.

He's been playing better than he's had in the last few years. Taking some better shots (although that shot against the Lakers was questionable in the 4th quarter where he took that fall back three) he's been playing a lot smarter and is a more explosive scorer. IMO, also Jamal Crawford and MWP can win it if he continues to play consistently off the bench.

He's more valuable to the Knicks bench then Crawford is to the Clippers bench. he should win it imo

6MOY Candidates:
Crawford
Martin
Smith
Landry

I'd give it to Craw daddy right now.

I agree somewhat. I think Crawford has been impressive this season. He was leading the team in scoring off the bench.

I think as he has cooled of some JR has picked it up recently.

Its a toss up right now between the two.

However I think Crawford is just as valuable as JR. Especially when the offense was not very fluid at the beginning of the year for LAC.

Watch out for Larry Sanders. Don't just look at scorers...

Sanders, in 25 minutes averages 8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3 blocks (leading the league... in 25 minutes of play, lol)!

*Humble brag*I had him months ago on my Fantasy Team.

Problem is that Skiles is looking to keep him as a starter. So his 6th man award chances might get nixed.

Nice point. Completey forgot about it.
Actually, I don't see him being removed from the starting lineup, so...

What makes me wonder is how come he doesn't play 30+ minutes especially when the Bucks don't have a star big man.

Anyway, my comment is off. He can't have a case cuz he's will keep on being a starter.

The 30+ minutes is becuase he gets into foul trouble easily.

Once the league refs gets use to him and he learns a bit more control in the paint he'll get to 30+.

Dude is impressive regardless.

Yea I agree it's gonna be between Jamal and J.R. They both have been playing wonderful off the bench especially J.R giving us a good scoring option .
