He's a great offensive coach, but his teams are always terrible defensively even if they have great defenders in the starting lineup.

Eventhough, I admit it that the Lakers perimeter D is pretty bad with Nash and even Kobe not being able to defend shooters.

Not with a bench that sucks more ass than Hitomi Tanaka and has to rely on Kobe going beast mode every single night.

Defense wins championship

D'antoni = No defense

Lakers with D'Antoni = 0 championships

simple math

Absolutely no any team he coaches probably wont even ever get to the finals let alone win it. D'Antoni as HC of Team USA probably would be luck to win Gold,lol. I dont even consider him a a great offensive coach. IMO a great offensive coach would recognize what he has to work with on the roster and make changes according to their strengths and he dont do that. The Lakers would have been better off keeping Mike Brown than hiring D'Antoni and I think Mike Brown is not a very good coach as his only success was with Lebron leading the way, its hard to not win a lot of games when you have him on your team.

No. The Lakers have one of the best teams in the league talent wise, but I don't think D'Antoni will ever win a title. He's a good offensive coach, but he's a horrendous defensive coach. I know that none of our bigs played in this game, but the way how our defense was played in this game, we might as well just blow up the team. I know fatigue is a factor and lack of depth due to injuries and we have 4 all stars in our lineup but our defense was horrible. Giving up 125 points is just completely inexcusable.

Nope...see what he did to the Knicks? Look at them now...See what he's doing to the Lakers now? I'm 100 percent sure he will never win a championship with his coaching style. If he were to one day change to his coaching style and adjust to personnel, then maybe.

no coach who accomplished a lot in their careers no coach ever said: we will let them score on us but we are gonna outscore them. every coach from championship team considered playing defense. you can give him best possible team the best he can do will be going to the finals but he got exposed with tremendeous talent having suns when they got raped by the spurs multiple times, I have no idea how this guy still finds the job in the league I guess teams easilly fall for his offense thinking if they have a few good defensive players they are gonna be fine.

Absolutely not.
If we wants a ring, I suggest him to become the assistant coach of a real coach.

Dude's teams just don't play defense. That's not just a cliche that everyone says right now, it's a fact.
