Once he's a FA in the summer?
There were rumors about him being traded there in the summer but Hawks didn't really have the assets to do it.
Hawks are already a great defensive team, then add Howard...that's freaking scary.
How good could the Hawks be if Dwight Howard goes to Atlanta?

I hope they would get rid of Horford or Smoove in that situation. Smith is a FA so maybe that would work. The Hawks would have a great defensive frontcourt with both Smoove and Horford being great defenders. A possibly very scary team defensively.

Depends on what they lose actually.
If they had to lose Horford or Smith, I'd say they let Smith go as Howard will take care defense and then you need someone to stretch the floor and Horford would be perfect for it especially since PF it's his real position anyway.
To be honest though, I still wouldn't consider them contenders. Maybe pretenders.

In theory, Hawks could sign Howard's contract first, and the re-sign Smith after using birds and go over the cap.
This would be a scary squad
C: Howard
PF: Horford
SF: Smith
SG: Morrow/Williams
PG: Teague
