It amazes me how easily is to overrate a player defensively, specially if they are super stars. Does anyone else finds it laughable that Kobe has more all nba defensive teams that guys like Tony Allen and Thabo Sefolosha?

I find it laughable that he has more all-defense 1st team selections than Scottie fcking Pippen, and more overall as well...

Everyone knows how good Kobe is as a scorer and overall offensive player, but kobe has NEVER, NEVER been close to being a DPOY type of player. No matter how hard the league tries to make him look like a good defender with all these 1st selections.

There's a good article about this regarding Kobe's defense, also supported by stats over his career.

back in 90s the awards mattered, now it's all popularity stuff, that's why kobe only tries to play defense when the game is big to get all attention how good he is, the most overrated player ever.

The league never gave kobe enough credit for his defense throughout his career

You're right. They have him too much credit

It can be done..
