Kyle Lowry gave the Toronto Raptors fans something to be excited about after their game seven loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
“This is only the start for us and the Raptors organization,” Lowry said, according to a tweet from TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
Kyle Lowry had an effective game, despite getting blocked on the game-winning attempt. Lowry scored 28 points (7-19 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 12-14 FT) and grabbed seven rebounds in game seven. Lowry averaged 20 points, five assists and four rebounds throughout the seven-game series.
During an appearance on the George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight show, Raptors CEO Tim Leiweke said that the team will definitely re-sign Lowry during the off-season.
“There’s a really special bond between [Raptors general manager] Masai [Ujiri] and Kyle. And there’s a special bond…I mean, this town should be in love with this guy. He’s been a great story.”
Kyle Lowry, who is now an unrestricted free agent, is expected to receive his biggest contract offers yet. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic may place a high bid on the talented point guard, but it seems like his heart is in Toronto.
