Coach Mike Woodson announced that Marcus Camby will play tonight in the New York Knicks game against the Dallas Mavericks. The veteran missed all of the preseason and the Knicks first three regular season games with a sprain in his left calf.
The Knicks defense has been serpurb so far this season and Camby would only help the defense get better. They have only allowed 85.7 points and opponents are shooting less than 40 percent a game. Marcus Camby is entering his 17th season in the NBA and is still producing good defense at his age. Last season with the Houston Rockets, Camby averaged nine rebounds and 1.7 blocks a game. Tyson Chandler will continue to be the starter, but Camby will come in as the backup center.
