The Mavericks and the Jazz are currently battling it out in the Western Conference to see which team can try and get to that 8th spot. Tonight, the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Utah Jazz at the America Airlines Center, in which the Mavericks would come up big and get the BIG win over Utah. The final score was 113-108.
Throughout the entire game, it was so close between these two teams. Constant lead changes, scoring each time down the court, and so on and so forth. One big problem Dallas had in this game was slowing down Utah Jazz Center, Al Jefferson. Each time down the floor he was getting easy shots down in the paint, causing the Jazz to stay so close. As the game entered the 4th quarter, Dallas would quickly start to pull away with this lead. The Mavericks went on a 20-2 run before finally being stopped by Utah Jazz bigman, Enes Kanter.
The spotlight for this would have to go to Mavericks starting point-guard, Mike James. Mike James was picked up by the Dallas Mavericks on a 10-day contract, which would soon lead to getting a contract that would keep him with the Mavericks the rest of the year. The NBA veteran put on a show for the crowd tonight, scoring a team high in points with 19. Shooting 7-10 from the field, and 3-4 from behind the three-point line, James had one of his best games all year tonight for the home crowd.
Dallas Mavericks are set to take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday.
