After just 17 games last season, Brooklyn Nets All-Star center Brook Lopez sustained a foot injury that required surgery, and cost him the remainder of the season. Lopez says that he has finally been cleared, but still has some work to do:
“I was fully cleared for play and everything about a week and a half ago now.”
“… Now it’s time to get back in shape.”
Lopez had been cleared for light shooting drills, but had not been cleared for contact exercises. The Nets will need Lopez, 26, to have another great season, as veteran Paul Pierce left the team for the Washington Wizards.
In 17 games for the Nets last season, Lopez averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds and nearly 2 blocks a game.
