The Minnesota Timberwolves and Nikola Pekovic have agreed on a five-year deal worth $60 million. In addition to the large contract, Pekovic will have the opportunity to earn up to $8 million in incentive-related bonuses.
The 27-year-old center averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds last season in 62 games for the Timberwolves. He shot a magnificent 52% from the field.
With a healthy Kevin Love and newly acquired Kevin Martin, Pekovic is expected to have an easier time on the court due to additional floor spacing. He was originally a restricted free-agent, meaning the Wolves would have had the opportunity to match any offer given to Pekovic.
