After the Thunder lost to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, it was questionable that coach Scott Brooks would return next season as head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rumors swirled around saying Phil Jackson might make a comeback to coach the young Thunder squad.
All the rumors can end now because Scott Brooks looks to remain the head coach for Oklahoma City for at least four more years, says reports. Brooks’ contract ends on July 1, 2012, so the Thunder front office tried to finalize the contract extension which had been in works for months.
The deal was only disclosed for four years, but his annual salary remains undisclosed, for now, but sources say it will be at least $4 million per year. Brooks’ contract runs through the 2015-16 NBA season, which is the same season Kevin Durant’s contract with the Thunder expires.
