According to Steve Kyler and David Aldridge, Shannon Brown is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers after being waived by the Washington Wizards. Brown previously played 3 seasons with the Lakers before leaving for the Phoenix Suns.
Steve Kyler from HOOPSWORLD:
In case you missed it last night @daldridgetnt reporting that Wizards won’t be keeping Kendall Marshall, Malcom Lee or Shannon Brown
All three expected to be waived by the Wizards — word is Shannon Brown headed back to the Lakers.
Shannon Brown was traded to the Wizards in a blockbuster deal that also sent Marcin Gortat, Malcolm Lee and Kendall Marshall to Washington in exchange for Emeka Okafor and a protected 2014 first-round pick. The Washington Wizards are only interested in keeping Marcin Gortat, according to reports.
The highflying Shannon Brown has won two championship rings with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a fan favorite, due to his consistent play, mind blowing dunks, and outrageous athleticism.
Brining Brown back in town is definitely something that will shine more light on the Lakers upcoming season. Not only will Brown put on a show alongside Steve Nash, Nick Young and Pau Gasol, but his presence will take pressure off of Kobe Bryant, who is coming off an achilles injury.
