The Philadelphia 76ers are interested in signing a point guard from the free agency pool, according to Alex Kennedy. Among that list are guards Rodrigue Beaubois, Chris Duhon and Daniel Gibson.
Beaubois, who last played for the Dallas Mavericks, has averaged 7 points and 2 assists during his four-year-career. Duhon, who was recently with the Los Angeles Lakers, is a 31-year-old veteran who specializes in three-point shooting. The 27-year-old Daniel Gibson has spent his entire career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was not re-signed this time around. A three-point bomber, Gibson has shot about 41% from behind the arc throughout his 7-year-career.
The Sixers, who traded franchise player Jrue Holiday for rookie center Nerlens Noel, only have Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten at the point guard position. These two youngsters have potential, but have not proven enough just yet; therefore, the Sixers are expected to pursue an extra point guard who may provide solid minutes and add depth to their roster.
