Darius Morris has agreed to a partially guaranteed contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The former Laker is expected to have a great opportunity to showcase his talent with the rebuilding 76ers. He averaged 4 points and 1.6 assists in 14.2 minutes per game last season while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Morris will join the Sixers as their third point guard, alongside Michael Carter-Williams and Tony Wroten. Just days ago, reports claimed that the Sixers were interested in Rodrigue Beauobis, Chris Duhon and Daniel Gibson. However, it seems like the Sixers chose to go with young prospect Darius Morris.
The 6’4″ point guard is only 22-years-old, yet comes with a good amount of experience, due to the opportunity to play alongside Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. During last seasons playoffs, Morris was in the Lakers starting 5 due to injuries. His offensive game is a bit weak, but he has proven to be a solid perimeter defender.
