According to Alex Kennedy from HOOPSWORLD, Stephen Jackson is hoping to join a contending squad. Apparently, the Houston Rockets are a possible landing spot.
Jackson averaged 6.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the San Antonio Spurs before being cut due to disagreements regarding his role with the team. Throughout his 13-year-career, Jackson has averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
Although signing Jackson may be a gamble, it may really pay off for the Houston Rockets. His solid jumper will help spread the floor for Dwight Howard, and also free up more space for Houston’s James Harden. His experience and toughness will also be a great addition for the Rockets, who hope to bring a title to Houston.
If signed, Jackson will compete for minutes with Chandler Parsons, Carlos Delfino and Francisco Garcia at the Small Forward position.
