Warriors, Stan Van Gundy Have Mutual Interest

The Golden State Warriors have reached out to an “equally interested” Stan Van Gundy regarding their vacant head coaching position, according to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo! Sports.

Stan Van GundyStan Van Gundy has a winning percentage of 0.641 as a head coach. Van Gundy’s most recent gig was with Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic in 2011-12. He led a not-so-stacked team of Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu to the NBA Finals in 2009.

In Orlando, Stan Van Gundy surrounded four shooters around Dwight Howard. With the Warriors, he will be able to work with one of the greatest shooting duos in NBA history, while having Lee and Bogut in the paint. While improving Golden State’s problems on the offensive end, Van Gundy would also be able to maintain their “defensive juggernaut”  style of play.
